henry viii Lets understand the meaning of this word. Henry Viii- the king of England from 1509-1547, also known as Henry Tudor or Henry VII. His victory led to a new, more stable form of government in England and lasting peace with France. He was very good looking and athletic and considered the epitome of manliness and bravery. He was 6'4" but thin. He won the battle of Bosworth Field in 1485, which made him king. Henry liked her very much and even visited her in jail after she had been accused of treason against the king.  Anne Boleyn committed suicide after being convicted of treason because the king took their daughter away from them . Henry's second wife was Jane Seymour , who died shortly after giving birth to Henry's long awaited son. Henry then married Anne of Cleaves, who the king found very repugnant and he soon divorced her and then married Catherine Howard. She was Henry's fifth wife and the second to be executed. She was unfaithful, so she had to be beheaded . Henry's sixth wife was Catherine Parr , his last wife. They had a good relationship and four children together, but she outlived him by seven years .
